How Iris Expands Remote Production with Everet PTZ Cameras
Everet Imaging is expanding the capabilities of its professional PTZ camera range through a new integration with Iris, the browser-based software platform for camera control, monitoring and remote production.
Through the partnership, six Everet camera models can now connect natively to Iris following a free firmware upgrade. This gives broadcast studios, houses of worship, educational institutions, government organisations and live event teams a new way to remotely manage Everet cameras from virtually anywhere.
The integration is available for the following models:
Compatible Everet cameras manufactured on or after January 1, 2026 can be upgraded free of charge. Earlier cameras will continue to operate normally as professional standalone PTZ cameras but are not compatible with the native Iris firmware integration.
Iris built directly into the camera
The key difference with the new integration is that Iris functionality is incorporated directly into the Everet camera firmware.
An Iris-Enabled camera can connect directly to an Iris Studio without requiring a separate computer or proprietary control appliance on location. Iris describes this architecture as a direct path between the camera and its browser-based Studio environment.
Once an Everet camera has been upgraded and linked to an Iris Studio, the connection is retained. The camera can subsequently be moved to another location or network while remaining associated with the same production environment.
For organisations operating cameras across multiple rooms, buildings or locations, this significantly simplifies deployment.

Control your Everet cameras from a browser
Iris Studio provides a central browser-based interface from which operators can access and control their cameras.
Within a single Studio, users can monitor live video, frame shots, recall presets and make camera adjustments while viewing the result in real time. Iris can also bring multiple cameras together within the same interface, reducing the need to switch between separate camera web interfaces or control applications.
For Everet users, this creates a flexible software control layer on top of the existing PTZ infrastructure.
A remote operator could, for example, control cameras located in different lecture halls, studios or venues without being physically present at each location.

Remote and local production
One of the major advantages of Iris is that the same production environment can be used both locally and remotely.
For conventional Iris installations, a Mac, Windows computer or Iris-Enabled camera can act as a Bridge between equipment on the local network and Iris Studio. With an Iris-Enabled Everet camera, the camera itself can provide this connection, removing the need for a dedicated onsite computer for the core camera connection.
This opens up several new workflow possibilities.
A university could centrally manage cameras installed across multiple lecture halls.
A house of worship could allow a production volunteer or technician to operate cameras remotely.
A broadcast organisation could provide technical support to cameras deployed at remote locations.
A live production company could preconfigure cameras before shipping them to a venue and subsequently access them remotely when they come online.
AI-powered camera control and auto tracking
Iris also provides intelligent production features including camera control and auto tracking.
Instead of simply controlling pan, tilt and zoom, Iris functions as a software layer around the camera. Operators can manage camera framing, presets and image settings while also using automated tools within the same production environment.
For productions with limited crew, AI-assisted tracking can reduce the amount of continuous manual camera operation required.
This is particularly useful for applications such as:
- lectures and classrooms;
- presentations and conferences;
- houses of worship;
- corporate studios;
- live events;
- sports productions;
- remote interviews.
One interface for multiple cameras
Iris is designed around the concept of a Studio.
Multiple cameras can be grouped together inside a Studio and controlled from one interface. An organisation can also create multiple Studiosāfor example, one Studio for each auditorium, classroom, theatre or production facilityāand make them accessible through a single Iris account.
That can make the new Everet integration particularly interesting for organisations operating larger fleets of PTZ cameras.
Instead of treating every camera as an individual device, cameras can become part of centrally managed production environments.
Collaborate from different locations
Remote access is not limited to one operator.
Iris allows users to invite other members of a production team into a Studio and assign access according to their role. Multiple users can then work with the same cameras and controls in real time from different locations.
This makes it possible to separate responsibilities.
For example, one operator may control camera movement while another adjusts the image, supervises the production or provides remote technical support.
For distributed production teams, this can dramatically reduce the requirement for specialist personnel at every production location.
Continue using your existing production workflow
The Iris integration does not mean that an Everet camera becomes locked into a completely new production ecosystem.
Iris is designed to operate alongside existing production equipment and software.
The platform supports common video and production workflows including NDI, SRT, RTMP and recording, while also integrating with production applications such as OBS and vMix. Operators can use a mouse and keyboard or compatible hardware controllers including Stream Deck, game controllers and IP joysticks.
For Everet customers already using NDI-based production environments, this is important: Iris adds another control and management layer without requiring the underlying workflow to be rebuilt.
From PTZ camera to remotely managed production endpoint
The Iris integration represents a significant development in how Everet cameras can be deployed.
Traditionally, an IP PTZ camera is installed at a location and controlled from equipment connected to the same production network.
With Iris Enabled functionality integrated into the camera, that same device can become part of a remotely accessible production infrastructure.
The camera can be installed where the video is required while operators, support personnel and production teams can work from somewhere else.
For installations involving multiple venues or locations, this can reduce both operational complexity and the amount of dedicated onsite equipment required.
No additional control hardware required
For compatible Everet cameras, there is no requirement to purchase an additional Iris gateway, dedicated control appliance or separate bridge computer simply to establish the Iris connection.
The integration is delivered through the Everet firmware.
Upgrade the camera, link it to Iris and the camera can connect directly to its Iris Studio.
That makes it possible for existing Everet customers to introduce remote and distributed production capabilities while continuing to use the cameras and IP infrastructure already installed.
Compatible Everet models
Native Iris integration will initially be available on six Everet models:
EVPRO2 and EVPRO1
Everet’s professional 4K60 PTZ camera platform for demanding broadcast and Pro-AV production.
EVX230 and EVX220
Professional NDI|HX3 PTZ cameras designed for IP-based production environments.
EVP320 and EVP312
Versatile PTZ camera models for professional streaming, education, corporate and live production applications.
Compatible cameras manufactured from January 1, 2026 onward will receive the Iris integration through a free firmware upgrade.
Existing camera. New possibilities.
The objective behind the Everet and Iris integration is simple: extend the capabilities of professional camera hardware through software.
An Everet camera can continue to operate in a conventional PTZ, NDI or IP production workflow while Iris adds browser-based management, collaboration, remote access and intelligent production tools.
No replacement camera system.
No proprietary control appliance.
No completely new production infrastructure.
Just an additional way to control and manage the Everet cameras already at the heart of the production.
Everet Imaging Ć Iris. Your camera. Now smarter.
